Ecobank Group appoints Mohammed Meraj Khan as Group Chief Technology and Information Officer and Managing Director of eProcess

Lomé, Togo, 20 august 2026 – Ecobank Group, the leading pan-African banking group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mohammed Meraj Khan as Group Chief Technology and Information Officer and Managing Director of eProcess, effective 11 August 2026.

As the Group continues to accelerate the execution of its Growth, Transformation and Returns (GTR) strategy and strengthen its technology and digital capabilities, this appointment reinforces Ecobank's commitment to building a resilient, agile and innovation-led technology organisation capable of supporting sustainable growth across its pan-African footprint.

Meraj joins Ecobank with more than twenty-five years of international experience leading technology, digital banking and enterprise transformation programmes across some of the world's leading financial institutions. Most recently, he served as Technology Transformation Director and Head of Group Digital Banking Delivery and Operations at Maybank, where he played a central role in advancing the bank's digital transformation agenda across multiple markets. He also served on the Board of Directors of Maybank Shared Services Sdn. Bhd., the Group's technology shared services company, and is a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors.


Throughout his career, Meraj has held senior technology and transformation leadership positions at Maybank, Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank, ANZ and Morgan Stanley. He has successfully led large-scale technology modernisation initiatives, digital banking programmes, payments transformation projects, enterprise architecture development and technology strategy implementation. His work has consistently focused on leveraging innovation to enhance customer experience, improve operational efficiency and drive business performance.
