EBI SA has changed its commercial name to Ecobank International

10 February 2023

Our Paris office, which is one of the key Ecobank Group affiliates, has been renamed Ecobank International.

The name change not only aligns better to the purpose and the identity of Ecobank International but will also help increase its visibility both internally and externally, as the international platform of Ecobank Group.

Previously known as EBI SA, Ecobank International’s main aim, since 2008 when it was founded, is to become a reference in the financing of international trade and the management of financial flows between Africa and the rest of the world

Its customers are principally Corporate, Financial institutions, non-governmental and International Organizations with business activities in Africa. It serves them with international Trade Finance solutions, corporate lending, cash management & payment solutions, foreign exchange & money market solutions.

Ecobank International operates through three divisions – Treasury, Trade & Corporate, Financial Institutions and Cash Management.

Its main primary value-added services are:

  • • Foreign exchange and money market solutions – through a unique platform, providing access to 33 African currencies and African asset listings, effectively and at a lower cost, for the benefit of all major players around the world (financial institutions, international organizations, NGOs, multinational firms, funds and asset managers).
  • • International Trade Finance solutions – as an international hub for key players in imports and exports from and to Africa.
  • • Cash management and payment solutions – offering not only a one-stop shop to CIB clients (Corporates, FI, IOs) to centralize international payments related to Africa in easily connecting with Ecobank multi-currency markets, but also a downstream Correspondent Banking Center for the Ecobank group
  • • Corporate Lending – participating in the financing of infrastructure, commodities etc., in sub-Saharan Africa.
