TECHNOLOGY AND SHARED SERVICES

Technology underpins the strategy of the group. The “One Bank” concept is a major initiative designed to ensure that the group operates to the same consistent standards in terms of processes and service delivery anchored on our technology platform. To this end, a Technology and Shared Services Centre has been built in Accra to centralize and standardize middle and back office operations across the group.

Our core banking system has also been upgraded to meet our higher operating standards.

Ecobank has data centres based in Accra, Lagos and Lome which provide a common technology platform including a regional switch connecting all affiliates and, which supports our "one bank" brand. The group also has its own fully integrated telecoms network which provides 24/7 connectivity, thus ensuring reliability of its products and services. The Ecobank International Technology and Shared services Centre provides the following services:

  • Data centre services
  • Telecoms hub services
  • Website, intranet, email and videoconferencing services
  • Electronic switch and payment platforms supporting Internet banking, Cards, ATMs, PoS services
  • Contact centre services, including hub for our call centre operations in Abidjan, Douala and Lagos
  • Web-based learning and development services
  • Centralised processing hub including account services, credit processing and payment processing services.

To ensure business continuity and leverage on the human capital and infrastructure available across our region, the Accra hub is supported by a secondary hub in Lagos and disaster recovery hub in Lome.
